    The following is a useful guide to the world of Beat Kerfew and all the shiny sparkly things inside it.


    Band Information

    Who are Beat Kerfew?
    Beat Kerfew consist of: Stu Calder (Drums), Rich Fuller (Vocals, Effects, Keyboards), John Harvey (Guitar, Rice Shaker), Neil Robinson (Guitar, Effects), James Fuller (Bass, Dirty Bass)

    Why Kerfew and not Curfew?
    The name Beat Kerfew was born form a chicken shaped wooden object covered in words called the “Word Chicken”. Two words were randomly picked Beat Kerfew. Kerfew spelt with a K, the American way.

    How did it all begin?
    Beat Kerfew began in the summer of 2000, after Stu, John, Jot and Neil stared jamming under the influence of beer. The improvised melodies sounded good. Later the same year Rich joined on vocals and Keyboards and Beat Kerfew continue with that line up to this very day.

    Is John Gay?
    No John is not gay.

    Who’s the stand in bass player we’ve seen?
    The stand in Bass player is a guy called Chris Murphy from a band called Glue. He stood in for James a few times last year.

    What equipment do Beat Kerfew use?
    Stu – Remo Drum kit, Zildidjan Cymbals and 2B sticks.
    Rich – Yamaha Keyboard, Yamaha Effects Box and a microphone.
    John – Fender Jagstang and a Trace Elliot Amp and Head.
    Neil – Korg Synthesizer, Yamaha Keyboard Acoustic Guitar and Fender Amp
    Jot – Gibson Thunder Bird Bass, Trace Elliot Commando Amp Head and Sunn Bass Cab.

    Have the Members of Beat Kerfew ever been in other bands?
    Yes they all have at one time or another,
    Stu and Rich used to be in a band called Waster.
    John was in a band called The Janet Theory.
    Neil is also in a band called Glue.
    Jot used to be in a band called Jellicoe.

    Beat Kerfew are currently planning to record and release a CD in the very near future. We will advise you when we know more.

    Who’s Ed and what is schizoacoustic recordings?
    Ed Dann of schizoacoustic recordings produced and recorded the last Promo.
